Sorry I haven't updated in a while. Friday was not a good day. Our first game against Russia did not go well. Blake and I were struggling pretty bad. I sat out the second half and Calvin went in to try to shake things up, but still no good. Our second game against Sweden went better, down to the last rock, but no win.
Yesterday we had one game, which was against Japan. Another close one and played a bit better, but again lost.
Today's game against Switzerland, I sat out and Calvin played. The guys played well and we had them beat until the last rock. Stephen had an open hit to win, but it over curled and flashed to lose 7-8.
We have one more game today, Great Britain at 7pm (2pm CST). We have to win this to have a chance to make the playoffs. GBR has been playing pretty good and beat Sweden this morning. We just need to come out fighting!
Wish us luck!

Beat Canada 6-5!!
Nothing like beating Canada in the first game here at the Winter University Games! It was a tight the whole game, but ended with a steal for the win. I did happen to fall while sweeping Stephen's last stone in the 3rd end to let Canada draw for 4, but we didn't let that hinder us. We have room for improvement and know we can play better.
Just dinner and practice tonight left for the day. We have two games tomorrow. First one is against Russia at 9am (2am CST) and the second one is against Sweden at 7pm (2pm CST). Hopefully we can keep it up and even play a bit better. USA!

First game against Canada today!
Our first game is today at 2pm (7am CST) and it happens to be against Canada's Matt Dunstone! I'm excited to get on the ice and play and not really nervous at all! If we can win this game, I think it would be a huge weight off of our shoulders as we continue on into the competition. Wish us luck!!
The girls team had their first game this morning at 9am (2am CST) against Russia, but did not win. Their next game is this evening at 7pm (2pm CST) against Great Britain.
Results and hopefully live scoring can be found here.

Alhambra
Today we spent the morning/early afternoon touring the Alhambra. I remembered my camera and took a ton of pictures although I've only uploaded a couple again due to the slow internet.
Other than that, we had a meeting with all the other curling teams and officials to go over the rules for the competition and we are having a team meeting before dinner and that is all that is planned.

Exploring Downtown Granada
Today is one of the only days we don't have anything planned, so the girls and us decided to go explore down town Granada. We got some coffee at a local café and walked down the river that flows through the city. I will post more pictures at some point, but it takes a long time to upload each picture on this slow wifi. I'm lad there is wifi though!!
We got some lunch and now the rest of the guys are napping. Not sure what we might do the rest of the day, but there is talk of going to see a hockey exhibition game this evening, USA vs Spain.
